Saturn enters Aries (Big Shifts in 2025)

If you haven’t already become privy to the knowledge, 2025 is an interesting year, astrologically speaking. This is because four outer planets slip into new signs this year. Since outer planets are farther from the Sun, they take longer to travel round it. This means they spend more time in a given astrological sign than the closer inner (or personal) planets. So when these slower outer planets transition into a new sign, it can be a big deal.

Outer planets, in contrast to the personal planets, tend to affect us humans on a collective, global scale. Yes, we can still feel their effects in personal ways, but these shifts are most often noticeable on the larger playing field of world events. This year FOUR outer planets are changing signs. FOUR! That’s a lot of potential energy for massive change and shifting here on planet Earth.

Neptune was the first planet to make its move this year. The planet of dreams, creativity, spirituality, death and rebirth left its home sign of Pisces for bold and impulsive Aries on 30 March.

Saturn is the next in line. He will join Neptune in Aries in a few short days on 24 May. This could create some interesting ripples through the time-space continuum. Where Neptune is all about ‘one love’ and dissolving boundaries, Saturn is all about tradition, ambition, and creating boundaries. Neptune is nebulous. Saturn is structured. Neptune has a tendency to escape reality when things get tough. Saturn digs in its heels and pushes forward with diligence and determination (and often little regard for collateral damages). With these two playmates in martially-inclined Aries … things could get a little spicy.

Saturn enters Aries

The Sabian Symbol for this first degree in Aries is A Woman Has Risen Out Of The Ocean, A Seal is Embracing Her. This is the energy of Saturn as He enters Aries. The image that comes to mind for me is one of a selkie. I see this woman as being ready to transition from one way of being (her seal form) to something new (her human form). As she emerges from the old, there are still pieces of her old life clinging to her (the seal). Transitions of this calibre take time to process fully. And it is a process. It deserves some conscious engagement. And in working through the transition with awareness, presence, and constancy it becomes much more graceful and manageable.

Neptune’s Sabian Symbol, when Saturn makes His entrance, is A Comedian Entertaining A Group Of Friends. Already Neptune is setting the stage for escape. ‘Let’s just keep focusing on things that are light and pleasing and comfortable!’ says Neptune. But Saturn brings some gravitas that could prove helpful if used with the elevated experiential wisdom that Neptune provides.

As is true with most anything in this universe, the cosmic archetypes and signatures all have a spectrum of potential expression. There’s a low frequency, a high frequency, and everything in between. This Neptune-Saturn energy crashing the party in Aries could be very confusing, riddled with illusions, lies, and the chaos of trying to build foundations on shifting sand. Or, it could give us the maturity and grace necessary to navigate these unprecedented times with some ease and composure, and an ability to gather the gifts from the raining chaos. This is why I keep coming back to astrology: It gives me some awareness of the energies at play so that I can more consciously choose how to work with them. In this way, I get to be an active participant in my fate rather than just feeling the waves pounding me recklessly through a turbulent sea. But, I digress …

We haven’t much time to rest before the other planets make their moves. Jupiter leaves Gemini and enters Cancer on 9 June, and Uranus enters Gemini (leaving Taurus) on 11 July. We may feel an expansive shift toward our foundations and our private lives, fine-tuning our spiritual connections with the Jupiter transition. And with Uranus entering Gemini, we may just find ourselves saying some surprising sh*t. Communication and mental processes may get really interesting

These grand entrances will be giving us a taste of what’s to come in 2026. Each planet, excepting Jupiter, will be retrograding back into their former signs for a few months late this year giving a brief moment to process and prepare for the re-entries in 2026. That’s when they will settle in for a nice long holiday in their new signs.

This is your teaser trailer, darlings. Sample the energies as they emerge this Summer, and then make any adjustments you may need to make  over the Winter. Big change is coming … whether you’re ready for it or not … whether you want it or not. May as well approach it with as much awareness and presence as possible to lessen the turbulence.

As always, I’m here to offer support during these unclear times. Whether you want to know how these cosmic events are likely to affect you, personally; or if you want some Bach Flower Therapy to help neutralize your psycho-emotional reactions; if you need some nervous system regulation; or just some general guidance with how to better understand and navigate your life: I’m here for you. Always.

Buckle up, friends. There’s a new wind blowing in …
