The New Moon arrived on Friday (01 Nov.) at 8:47a (EDT) at 9° Scorpio. This post is a little late … obviously. But it’s still relevant, IMO, so here we go …
The Sabian Symbol for this lunation is A Fellowship Supper Reunites Old Comrades. After reviewing the astrology of this Scorpionic New Moon, I believe this is a time to look at all your old familiar patterns and beliefs. Gather them all at the proverbial table. Use this time of fellowship to discern who might be ready to transmute and who might be ready to release.Â
There is a ton of water in this New Moon chart, including a Grand Water Trine. Get ready to roll in the emotion ocean, kiddos! But thanks to that Grand Trine, we’ll at least be equipped with some emotional support devices. Emotions may run high, but we’ll be cosmically supported to feel into our feelings with a little more ease than usual. It’s an opportunity for upgrades in your E.Q.
A mutable T-Square to Saturn provokes the creation of more mature emotional expressions that keep you adjusting your emotional intel to align with your values and beliefs. Adaptability is key here, though. Digging in your heels and sticking to what you’ve always done isn’t the way forward.Â
With Chart Ruler, Pluto, in the anoretic degree of Capricorn, you might feel a strong sense of urgency to cling to those systems and structures that have worked so well for you in the past—or that have at least become your familiar companions—in the hopes of bringing them to their full completion before leaving this sign. It’s like a surge of ambition to ascend to/hold onto/return to the pinnacle of power. However, most, if not all, of these structures have run their course and have simply lost their usefulness. If you can allow yourself to recognize this and to release them, you will likely find that new and different opportunities for power will be revealed to you in the most opportune time.
Mars opposing Pluto is asking you to notice how your actions are out of alignment with your true inner source of power and/or how your shadows might be dictating your choices. Invite those shadows into the light so you can inspect them and reorient them so they can direct you toward something truly transformative and supportive.
It’s likely that you will feel some confusion around where you’re life is headed at the moment, thanks to an inconjunction between Sun/Moon and the North Node. Consider that you aren’t meant to see where you’re going at the moment. This is an invitation to excavate old ballast that needs to be jettisoned and/or integrated. This is a time for looking inward, rather than forward.Â
This is a time to feel your feelings, and to be open to adapting and shifting the way you engage with your emotions. There’s an opportunity to upgrade your E.Q. if you can be present enough to seize it. Part of this will entail excavating your shadowy bits and making edits to what you find there. What can be integrated? What can be released? How can you take aligned action in your life based on this new Emotional intelligence?
We continue this rather heavy trajectory, but fret not. There’s always renewed hope, strength, and fortitude on the other side of the storm. The dark moments force us to reconnect with what is truly important and life-giving. And Scorpio season is always intense and deep and dark. That’s just its nature. And it’s necessary. So, take advantage while you can.Â
If you’re interested, I cast a tarot spread for this Scorpio New Moon cycle. May it provide some additional clarity and inspiration for you as you move through the next four weeks.Â
Q: What are the most notable themes of this cycle?
A: 10 SWORDS - Triggers! Integration! Tending + Mending!
Q: How can we work with these themes most effectively?Â
A: THE EMPEROR - Face them head on! See what is challenging you. Create a strategy for engaging with it. Rely on your abundant resources for support. Stand strong in your own self-sovereignty.
Q: Where can we find emotional support along the way?
A: TEMPERANCE - Finding those tools and resources that encourage you to be present in equanimity and grace. Lean into softness. Be open to receiving what you need when you need it. Allow the rivers of your emotions to flow naturally without encumbrance. Shift directions when needed. Do what you need to do to keep your inner cup full. And don’t let yourself get swept up in emotional reactivity.
Q: What shadows are likely to be triggering us at this time?
A: THE STAR - Our hopes and fears, of course! It is often said that whatever we most want in the world is also what we most fear. (This is very Scorpionic medicine.) The Star lights the way through the darkest night. It can act as our guiding North Star if we can manage to stay focused on its light rather than get distracted by the shadows lurking around every crevice and corner. Hopelessness, fear, feelings of being lost with no direction, or even the possibility of getting what we’ve been dreaming for can show up as emotional triggers during this cycle.
Q: What do I need in order to move forward through this darkness and emerge safely and successfully on the other side?
A: 9 PENTACLES - What is needed is a strong and steady sense of trust. Lean into your physical support systems. Nourish yourself. Ground yourself. Get yourself into Nature. Trust in the truth, the power, the abundance of the Universe to provide you with what you need when you need it. Do what needs doing in every moment. And do it with a sense of gratitude and wonder. Be present in the moment. And breathe.
This spread has a majority of Major Arcana cards. There is a strong potential for transformation during this cycle. (Of course … it’s Scorpio season!) Keep your feet on the ground and your gaze on your guiding star and you should make it through all the better for it. If you’d like to lean on me as one of your supportive resources, just reach out. I’m here, and honored to be at your service. xoxo 💋
